Hi,

I've just installed a new 2865, latest firmware.  Management from the LAN works fine, I've configured DrayDDNS and that looks to be working fine.  However when I try to connect to the router from the internet I get the usual certificate warning screen then it drops me to a "Bad Request 400" screen and that's as far as I can go.  All the ports on the router were left as standard i.e. HTTPS is on 443.  I've disabled all the VPN services so there shouldn't be anything to interfer with the connection.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Rob

I don't access from externally but I thought to get into the router you need port 443 open and SSL VPN enabled in the Remote Access Control Setup. I had to disable SSL VPN to properly shut down port 443.

Hi ctluk,

If you're connected via a separate router/modem, could it be that your external traffic isn't reaching your Vigor router and in fact is just hitting your external modem. Obviously if you're using ADSL then this wouldn't be the case, if it is the case, try DMZ-ing the Vigor router's IP within the external modem.

Just a thought.

And I have to agree with John, I would always use a VPN and disable ALL external access to the router; all you want is someone sitting at your frontdoor trying to pick the lock for hours on end!

Thanks for the responses.

John - all the VPN services are disabled, I did mention this in the original post :)

Hodgesan - its a FTTP connection with nothing between the NTU and the DrayTek, thanks for the suggestion though. External access is IP restricted so the only person that should be knocking on the door is me :)

I have engaged DrayTek support so assuming I get this resolved I'll post back the fix.

Try enabling SSL VPN, I could get access to the router from outside on HTTPS as I had a fixed IP address until I unticked it, it was still ticked as a default setting. It was my first time with a fixed IP address so I was testing for access and it seems I found I way in.
