EETV IPC6023 error with Draytek 2862 router

Hi

I'm getting the IPC6023 error when watching sky sports, tnt sports etc. Seems fine on channels like BBC HD.

The HD sports channels work for about 5 mins and then the error appears. I can change channel and then return to the channel which works straight away but the error re-appears again after a few mins. Sometime the error disappears and the channel works again without any intervention.

The tv is connected by ethernet cable and when I do a speed test using a laptop using the same cable I'm getting 900Mbs

I have the latest firmware installed 3.9.9.7_BT

The IGMP is enabled including snooping.

When I use the supplied BT router all is fine so I assume I either have a setting wrong or the router is not up to it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Mike V.

Hi Mike,

Have you tried switching to wireless and disconnecting the ethernet cable? Sounds backwards I know but, some people are reporting this as a solution to that error code.

It will most likely be a specific settings, as you say, which the BT router probably caters to. The vigor router will probably not have this specifc setting active by default.

I would not want to suggest any settings for fear of opening up your router to the outside world, but, UPNP might be worth a quick hard-and-fast test to see if it solves the error msg issue. I would then disable it again and investigate further.

Lots of people have this same error and not with just DrayTek equipment.

Just a couple of suggestions to try...

It's your firewall blocking the packets more likley or not.. Try increasing your udp flood flood defense. I set my at 20000 packets a second. If your firewall doesn't allow you to adjust the figure disable the rule.
You way have to increase the general query level as wall under igmp and enable fast leave.
I enabled IGMP accept list to only allow my youview to get the udp packets.

Let me know how you get on and I will hunt up my youview settings that I sent to draytek to fix the issue when they couldn't fix it.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, the notifications for the thread went into my junk box.

I've tried the following without success:
  • Disconnected ethernet and tried using wifi only
  • Increased udp flood defence to 20000
I did switch the firewall off completed for 30mins and the channels worked fine so clearly it looks like a firewall setting.

the_pit, if you are able to dig out your IGMP accept list, that would be great.

Cheers Mike V.
