Missing IP Group and Hostname from Management Access List from the Internet was created by Rob
I'm adding a hostname to the Management 'Access List from the Internet' on the routers at our clients and a couple of 2860's seem to have disabled IP Groups and Hostnames from the options, only allowing IP Objects.
Do I need to enable something somewhere? Inspecting the HTML Select shows a commented placeholder for these options.

Hi
Rob
,
Some models do have all three options 'IP Object', 'Hostname' and 'IP Group', like the 2962, so that's possibly why you're seeing the 'HTML Select' placeholder; or it could be a firmware release issue.
This seems like a no-brainer to me, to have the 'IP Group' option available on all models, as it means you can have many public IPs thrown into one group that you can add to easily at a later date rather than having to enter the management config page to add each individually IP Object. This would be useful for the 'LAN Access Setup' config page too, as you're more likely to have numerous devices with different IPs on your LAN(s) that you want to administer the router from that you can't bring together in an IP Range as an IP Object.
The 2862 has 'IP Object' and 'Hostname' but no 'IP Group' in the 'Access List from the Internet' list. Saying that, in the past, I have seen a firmware release that did enable all three of these options in the 'LAN Access Setup' config page, as mentioned above, but it was removed in the following firmware update for some reason, which was strange. I haven't looked back at all the old firmware releases to find out which one it was, as that firmware may have offered the same options in the 'Access List from the Internet' list'!
