I have to replace one of our 2600 series router as it just doesn't keep the VPN connection. There are quite a lot of user accounts on it. Is there a way to get the passwords off it so I don't need to call all the people and ask them for their passwords which I bet most of them won't remember anyway? I'm guessing they are in clear text in some config file. How do I get them then?

Sadly for you, they are not in clear text on the 2600!

A possible option: Do you use a Windows server? Instead of user authentication on the router you could hand it off using radius to the windows server. To do it, enable IAS on the windows server and then set up the DrayTek as a radius client. Then you only need to maintain the user accounts on the server.

By handing it off do you mean that they would somehow be transferred to ISA? Does it work the other way round as well? It's Windows Server 2000 and we had lots of problems with ISA on it and so we took it off. Thanks

What would happen if I run the backup on that router and then restore it on a more recent version of Vigor? Would it transfer the settings?
