mOTP in new 2820 firmware was created by foxbat5
Hi,
I've now spent a few hours trying to get the vpn mOTP authentication working without success on my 2820 with the 3.3.4 firmware
Has anyone been sucessfully authenticated using this new
feature.
Regards
Graham

check that your clocks are correct on the router and the device making the mOTP key. Are you using SmartVPN client to generate the key or an app on a phone?
I think they must be re-making the mOTP setup guide or something because there was a guide for setup but now there's just one for smartVPN client:

Hi Voodle, cheers I suspect the clock sync is 100% the fix had the same issue with otp tokens before. I'm using the same iphone app as draytek show in their example page.
hi admin, suprised draytek would implement dialog boxes in the 2820 firmware that i'm able to see if the function doesn't work on the 2820.readme also doesn't state thats the case.
Should this be raised as a bug if its available in a 2820 web interface ?

Quick Followup to Voodle suggestion , syncing the router time and the time of device generating the password , in my case an iphone solved the issue.
For confirmation my device was a 2820 running the latest 3.3.4 firmware
Cheers Voodle

i also had the same issue - re-syncing the time on the router solved the problem and VPN is working well now.

any update on a procedure for this?
I've installed the mOTP applet on phone- when I start the Java app it asks for 25 random keys?
In the 2820 I've added a remote dial in user and enabled mOTP.
Does this "25 random keys" in the Java applet need to match the "Secret" in the dial in user form on router, or the pre-shared key in the "IPSec General Setup"?
I found a copy of the 2950 setup guide for motp but implementation seems a bit different...
Did find a prog for Windows Mobile to sync time via NTP which might help the time issues.... TimesyncTZ(from XDA-developers) . Others are available for Android/ iPhone...
