I am trying to use the N wire function on this router be it seem very poor. If I have the device in g+n mode I get very bad performance. It connect at about 54mb but I can not ping anything even the wireless router. If I set the client in the vignor software to only use b+g then it works fine just slowly. I also tried the router in N only but again I could connect but not ping or access anything on the LAN. I am just using it in G mode, not very happy as I spent the extra money on the N61 to get better performance. I am using the latest firmware by the way.

What kind of security are you using with those two devices? WPA2 / no security are the only ways to get the full 300Mbps speeds over 802.11n

I have it set to WPA2/PSK is that correct? It does not seem to be a speed issue it is more like non working issue.
I have it on G at the moment and windows says about 12/18 mbps. as soon as I change it to N although windows still says it is connected the network is unusable.
I would be happy with 50mbps.
