Vigor2850n WPA2 and PSK was created by terven
I'm trying to set a more secure WPA2 PSK on my Vigor2850n. I have followed the instructions to set this: 64 Hexadecimal digits leading by "0x". I have entered this in upper- and lower-case digits, both when setting the password and when trying to connect. However, I cannot connect using such a password.
Does anyone have any experience of or tips for using a hex WPA2 PSK?

Can you link to the instructions you followed?
You can go up to 63 characters for WPA2 PSK but 12-16 is sufficient
I might be wrong but done you use ASCII or HEX when you use WEP encryption?

The instructions are in the user manual - section 3.5.3 Security. On page 81 there is a screenshot which shows the following:
Type 8~63 ASCII character or 64 Hexadecimal digits leading by "0x", for example "cfgsa1a2" or "0x655abcd...".
So, it has to be 64 hex digits but, I can't get this to work. Am I missing something?

I think that must be wrong as you don't get "x" in Hex its just abcdef & 0123456789

Correct 'x' does not occur in Hex but prefixing with '0x' signifies to the compiler or device reading the code that what immediately follows is a hexadecimal string.
