i am interesting as well for future reference ... the last 30 seconds (last step) when you let the reset button ... the leds was still flashing for a while...
did you wait for the modem to return at the normal ACT stage (where the led flash each one second as normal) or did you upgrade while still was flashing fast?
Thanks

Just upgraded mine - reset first (kicked off upgrade while still flashing).
I used the tool in windows 8.1 and got a ACK error where the connection died half way though - got a bit worried! I then re-ran it and the update seemed to complete much quicker and finish.
When the router returned on standard settings I re-applied my settings backup..... and guess what..... SO FAR, SO GOOD! woo!
Fantastic find. I'll wait a bit longer just to make sure before updating support. Seems there may be issues with the web-based firmware update process in multiple browsers.

For the 30/30/30 reset I just followed this (although I didn't on my 2nd router, and it still worked):
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30
For the rest, I used the router tools link at the very bottom of this page:
