missing wifi menu 2830Vn was created by techmonkey
Afternoon all!
Our client has a 2830vn router which a couple of weeks ago we configured so it would have 2 WiFi SSID's. One for staff and one for guests, with the guests being isolated on a VLAN so as not to compromise the network.
This was tested and worked fine.
Yesterday I visited site for another issue and noticed there was no WiFi installed at all.
Upon logging in to the router I noticed the menu for wireless settings was missing. I restarted the router and it was no different, I noticed they were behind by 1 firmware version so updated the firmware, but still no Wireless settings menu.
Has anyone seen this before any ideas how we can resolve it?
Thanks in advance

perhaps loaded by mistake wrong firmware
There is a 2830n & 2830n plus
How to find which one the client has here
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-2830-dual-band
Then use the correct firmware reflashing with the utility tool
Here is a similar guide but needs the *rst* file extension for a clean instal
Also the post is old so check for latest firmwares

Another reason the wireless menu can disappear is if the unit is dropped etc. and the internal
wireless card had become loose.

I am afraid neither of these can be the case.
The router is in a locked comms cabinet that no one has access to and is securely mounted, so cant have been dropped.
Also as I say the router was fine and the WiFi working, it was only a week or so later it suddenly stopped. No updates had been applied in the meantime as I am the only one with the router password. I have since discovering the Wifi menu missing, updated with the correct firmware, but no joy.

check the power supply if is ok ... but to me (the condition is right now) seems you may need to reflash it with the method i mentioned
If you had bad weather perhaps a lightning caused issue to the unit ( so to the firmware or PSU)

It might not have been dropped, but if the card was already loose, maybe changes in
temperature, someone slamming the comms
closet door or whatever caused it to just go over the brink. It's not impossible.
