When you say 'make sure the printer VLAN is common to the others' what do you mean by this and how do you do it?

I'd like to do something similar between tagged VLANs on the same router.
I have a printer plugged into a managed switch, along with other devices, which gets VID tagged and put into a VLAN of its own.
I'd like to let other devices on different VLANs access the printer possibly only through specific ports.
The idea is to give the printer minimal access to the devices on the other VLAN.
Any pointers appreciated.
