AP962C power supply needed was created by Ross Mair
Hi,
I purchased a 962C for home-use, and did not realize it didn't ship with a power supply. I only plan to run one unit, and don't want to have to buy and set-up a POE switch.
Can anyone suggest the compatible power supply? Same as used for similar AP models?
Thanks

Hi Ross,
The DRAYPSU16 should work.

Thanks for the link to the specs page. Very helpful.

However, the original Draytek models seem to be hard to come by, especially where I live. Despite the warnings, will any similar 12V 2.5A supply with the same plug dimensions do the job?

Hi Ross Mair ,

Yes, any power supply with the correct connector and polarity, that is able to handle the voltage and amperage required to power your device, will work.

The power supply info specifies its ability. Your device’s label info specifies its requirements.

A power supply with a rating of 12v 3.0amp would comfortably power a 12v 2.5amp or a 12v 1.0amp device, a 12v 4.0amp device on the otherhand would be too much for it to handle and the PSU would eventually fail or cause the device to operate incorrectly, possibly to the point of failure of the device as well.

(The warning is because DrayTek can’t guarantee the quality of a device manufactured by someone else, so you are responsible for selecting a good quality PSU of the correct rating, or just buy theirs and your warranty will remain valid.)
