I've had a look at the 3CX site tonight. How do you use PSTN and ISDN lines? I assume you can buy PCI cards for the Windows box. Can you point me to them and how much do they typically cost?
Is 3CX better on Windows server, or does it work just as well on an XP box?

Hi,
Probably not the best place to discuss a competitor product, pm me and I'll help in whatever way I can.
However some simple answers:
1 no addin cards needed whatsoever. 3cx uses the nic on any pc to handle sip
2. I don't run it on anything special in fact a standard win 7 box x64.
3. Pstn is easy, plenty of manufacturers including cisco make a gateway, about £140 buys an spa 9000 which should do it.
4 can't advise on isdn, but why not port these numbers over to sip and remove the cost?
5 another thing is 3cx provides proper cti so can be linked to a crm system or just outlook, out of the box. it even has an api so you can link to anything if you can write the software
6 forums fantastic get answers to any problems quickly.
7 and the killer, depending on the number of concurrent calls it's FREE, the license is based on the number of external sip calls that run concurrently.
