Hey guys,

Last week we installed one AP700 as a repeater in a hotel using a 2820. After following Micky's instructions for setting up WDS mode here: http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_wlan_AP700_WDS.html everything worked perfectly.

The hotel came back to us a while later asking us to put another one in the basement (the first went on the top floor). After following the same setup, for some reason both AP's continually drop off.

Looking at the link status of the WDS in the 2820 panel, the two AP's stay linked for a few seconds, then drop off intermittently. It seems that neither one stays on at the same time and they're "fighting" for access.

All three devices use the same SSID, the same channel, and the same WPA2 password. Switching one AP off allows the other continuous access and viceversa, but when both are on the problems occur.

Is there any reason why two AP's on the same network would cause a problem?

Disd you change the mode of the 2820 to repeater when you added the extra AP?

No, should it be?

At the moment it's as follows:

Just to add, changing it to repeater doesn't make any difference - the links still intermittently drop.

Sorry to bump, but has anyone got any ideas to resolve this? How should I proceed for support?
