Hi,

Originally when this link was posted it was for 3.3.5_RC2
Firmware Version : 3.3.5_RC2a
Build Date/Time : Sep 9 2010 16:13:05
ADSL Firmware Version : 232201_A Hardware: Annex A

However today when I checked it is for 3.3.5_RC5
Firmware Version : 3.3.5_RC5
Build Date/Time : Nov 2 2010 10:56:13
ADSL Firmware Version : 211011_A Hardware: Annex A

Looking at the ADSL Firmware version it looks like RC5 has an older version 211011 compared to 232201 that was in RC2. Are there any differences in this firmware and will it affect connection speeds here in the UK on ADSL 1 lines and also on ADSL 2 lines.

Cheers,

John

It's not so much that the modem code is older/newer - I believe that the codes are optimised for different linetypes (e.g. one will handle longer, noisier lines better).

the connection speeds would be a little lower for ADSL2+ lines but it'll handle poor quality ADSL lines a bit better.

One thing I've noticed so far is that under the USB Application menu there's now a web syslog function, and a web interface based reader for the USB syslogs.
