You've reminded me of a question I meant to ask, does it matter whether I use WAN1 or WAN2 for the routed SDSL, connection bearing in mind that the other ADSL connection will be connected via a Vigor 120?

Hmmmm, exactly the same. Appears to reboot every 15 seconds. From a windows PC, I can use "ping 192.168.1.1 -t" and the Vigor 2950 will respond until I do ctrl-c to stop. When I plug in the WAN router, the pings stop responding after 15 seconds and respond again about 8 seconds later.
I think I might reflash the box, just in case & try again.

Well, it looks as though reflashing the 2950 did the job! It was strange that everything looked fine but it just rebooted regularly. Now I have a 2950 that doesnt reboot & I can access the internet. Great!
Anyway, can someone please clarify something in my head with reference to the NAT/Port Redirection and the firewall ruleset.

I want to setup port redirection, to redirect anything that hits my external IP address on 443, to an internal IP on 443. I can manage that bit, but the question is, do I need any firewall data filter rules to enable this? (I know what I've said can be done with NAT/Open Ports but I might be changing the external port at a later date, so I'd prefer to use the port redirection rule).

I suppose what I'm looking for is a concise document that explains how the draytek box handles its firewall rules. Anyone have any good links? The user guide isn't up to much.

Scott

Great Neal, thanks. I just want to be absolutely sure that all communications that cross this box are accounted for! I'm off to do a bit of investigation re draytek rules/nat/open ports/port forwarding to make sure I've 'got' the way they implement this. You may see an new thread in the very near future.
