Your ISP is being very naughty then. Your ISP can't arbitrarily decide to go IPv6 and cut-off IPv4 customers. Perhaps they've actually said they're going IPv6 for
new connections which is logical and understandable.
IPv4 will be around for a very, very long time. The important thing to remember is will be no new/free IPv4 addresses very soon, Europe had just been given its final allocation for example. IPv4 and IPv6 can cohabit quite nicely together and can cross communicate. The only scenario which can effect you (mattlintott) is where you get a new site and IPv6 is the only option available. Then, and only then, you will need to worry about IPv6 and have equipment that is able to handle both protocols.
