Vigo 2750n NAT port forwarding does not seem to work

In that case set the local port in your nat to 80 and leave the outside port start and end at 8000, also switch it to TCP only.

ie CCTV TCP+UDP 8000 8000 192.168.1.74 80

JACKPOT! well done .. interesting it needed local port at 80. I imagine it receives the request on 80, but as you have put 8000 on the end of the it knows that this is not for 80 and then forwards it on to the port you state.

maybe you can explain it English such that I can understand it? :-)

Its actually called PAT, port address translation, the DVR device is listening on port 80, standard HTTP access, to access it from port 8000 externally the router is simply translating inbound traffic received on port 8000 to the local address on port 80.
