I have, and it gets rid of the 'DNS' message above, but it doesn't help the fact that the server still classifies it as a 'public' network.

To be honest, I don't think that option is particularly relevant. I can access and ping websites, even when I keep the DNS servers I receive from my ISP (which are assigned via DHCP, courtesy of the DrayTek). It seems to be a slightly more internal problem...

Took a punt and installed the beta firmware - no change.

i would say to email the support if no one else reply for other suggestion, to be honest i also think must be an internal issue because mine (2760) sometimes needs manual reboots to take affect even the "force dns to LAN 1" etc

Here's how I fixed it, in case anyone else has the same problem with Windows setting the network as private/public:

-Go to 'regedit' on the PC
-Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
-There will be several sub-folders with GUIDs as names.
-Right click on each one and delete it
-Restart the PC

On a Windows 8/Windows Server 2012 machine, it will then come up with the "Would you like to detect other computers on the network?" screen, which, if you click yes to, it'll change the network onto private.
