2860 reboots when syslog enabled - anyone else?

Hi guys, I have always used syslog with previous models to collect line stats for MRTG, using the "Router/DSL information" option.

I have had the issue with the router rebooting as soon as the ADSL PPP session authenticates, if syslog is enabled the router goes in to a constant reboot loop.
I have tried old, new and beta firmware - same issue.

If I enable syslog once the router has synced and authenticated then it is fine, until there is a disconnection.

Can anyone else test this?

cheers,

Adrian.

HI
We have syslog Enabled on 27 2860s and don't have the issue. They all point to our external ACS and log everything, that's the only difference I can see from your screen shot.

Hi, yea I am a bit puzzled as to why it would crash instantly upon PPP authentication.

Are you using ADSL or VDSL?

I'm using PPPoA LLC ADSL.

if is adsl ... try PPPoE LLC Snap, same vpi/vci, mtu etc, it should let you synchronize
or PPPoA vc mux
PPPoA it needs vc mux as far i know for normal adsl connections unless MPOA is in use then i don't know

Hi, the connection works fine with PPPoA LLC which is what the ISP (KC) says to use, the problem is that when syslog is enabled, as soon as the router makes connection it reboots.

They are all a mixture, some ADSL, VDSL and some both with WAN2 enabled with a modem.
