An update on the way things are going. Openreach reset the DLM on Wednesday morning and at that point I was running the OR modem, then a dual NAT via the Sky router onto the EWAN of the 2860.

Initial sync speed after DLM reset was around 66Mbps, but lots of errors on both up and down. DLM intervened in the small hours and dropped the DS to 62Mbps by applying a small amount of interleave. I let this run through the rest of Thursday and Friday, no more action from the DLM in the early hours of Friday so I am assuming that the DLM had found a level of errors it was happy with.

On Friday evening the 2860 was plugged into the VDSL and all other modems and routers removed. Sync locked at 61.2Mbps, so slightly lower than the OR modem. Overnight the DLM has NOT intervened and there have been no resets.

So far so good. I am however, confused by the stats, perhaps someone could explain them?

FE ES Count is showing 1879, when I connected the 2860 to the VDSL line initially it was showing 1872, so no real change overnight. However, this Is I assume is the Far End Error Seconds. I would have thought this would have reset to zero on first sync, or is this a figure pulled from the DSLM that would only be reset to zero when the DLM was reset on Wednesday, so includes the error seconds before the DLM intervened in the small hours of Thursday morning.

Anyone know the answer?

i only can tell the upstream is at fast path & perhaps due to the 1879 errors the downstream seems kicked with some kind of level 889 (not sure if the downstream only is with interleave, but is reporting it as fast)
But i can not say if the errors was kicked due to synchronization or build up slowly

NE Current Attenuation : 13 dB Cur SNR Margin : 6 dB
with attenuation 13 (if is correct) you are about 900 meters far from the cabinet but this is an estimate with adsl calculations ... vdsl is slightly different so does not indicate accurate distance
snr margin is 6 db (this can see it at online status menu)

Xdsl Reset Times : 0 it looks like you had no disconnections (yet)
I am not sure if the xdsl link times was disconnected once or just reporting how many you been reconnected, but you will understand if you keep an eye on it next time

VDSL Firmware Version : 05-06-07-05-01-07, current modem code

DSLAM CHIPSET VENDOR : < BDCM > & you are in a broadcom chipset cabinet, with that cabinet in my opinion the vector is the best for it

If you have no issues leave it as it is

Thanks,

We are about 300 metres from the cabinet.

Everything still stable, long may it continue...

Latest stats. 2860 on for 3 days, I caused all of the links, not the DLM. I ran without vector for 24 hours, it appeared to make little difference. This is now going really well.

Todays CRC count was at 280 when at about 8am. FE ES was at 2265

Still no intervene from the DLM.

is it using the same vector firmware?
