Draytek 2860N Line Drops was created by kiman2000
Like others, I'm getting many lines drops /day

Old ADSL filter directly into Test Socket (bypass NTE5 face plate) -> OR box -> 2860N
Firmware 3.7.4.3 Vector RST + Hard Reset
UPnP off
DoS off

I'm new to SysLog

Please could someone tell me which way round the ==> is? Does this mean that the router did not reply to a request from the OR box, or the other way round? Which sent the request?
Is this a Sync drop from BT or is this the Draytek?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi babis3g,

wan > general setup > wan 2 enable (ALREADY ON), always on (ALREADY ON), vlan id 101 (NOT RUNNING A VLAN)
wan > internet access > wan 2 > PPPoE tab, obtain ip automatic (FIXED IP - NO [Dynamic IP]), mtu 1492 (ALREADY 1492), not sure if needs username pass (NEEDED AND SET) & enable (ALREADY ON) top left the small dot

Do you know which way are the ==> are in the Syslog? Was this not a Sync drop - from the OR box?

Sorry i don't know to read proper the log but if you are using vpn must be the vigor
Perhaps another user may be able to tell, but if not ...
Send email to the support (they reply fast so by tomorrow should have answer) http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/techquery
They should be able to tell you (mention to them if you was connected wired or wireless

I didn't say anything about vpn. I'm not use the vpn features.

As for draytek - they clearly employ a bunch of imbeciles. I completed their support ticket including which firmware I was using...

"Product : Vigor 2860N (F/W 3.7.4.3 S/N ....
I have installed the latest firmware Vector RST + Factory Reset and disabled UPnP as many user suggest. "

and their reply was ...

"We would advise you to update the firmware on the router first.
We would like you to update the firmware to ver 3.7.4.3"

The infants that they call support staff can't even read an email. I'm not expecting this to be resolved by such incompetent people.
