if that post is referring to 3.6.2 then i can confirm the speeds are 10% less, however, if there talking about a newer version then i look forward to trying, oh by the way, i think if your using zen then you need to update your firmware to 3.6.2, ive read that loads of zen users couldnt sync up untill they updated, go to download page right to the bottom, and youll see ftp international site, go through to annex A and choose 2471201 or 244001 3.6.2version number, you can choose others but i found these to be the best sync for adsl2 so you might as well get both worlds, i dont it matters when it comes to vdsl ,the version numbers are the sam in every firmware in that list. I think you might just see your outer sync up after the flash, i really hope this isnt the firmware there talking about, honestly, there is no difference at all in speed. You will be dissapointed if youve been using the bt openreach supplied modem.

I'm guessing that article refers to 3.6.2, which was released about a week after the article was published... which is a shame.
I'm very pleased with the performance I'm getting via the Openreach modem, but it would be nice to a) have another LAN port, b) save a few watts, and c) justify the enormous expense!
Thanks for your help. I'll see what (if anything) Draytek UK support have to say before I upgrade to the newer firmware.

I've also tried setting the profile explicitly to 17a, but that doesn't make any difference either.

DrayTek UK have emailed me RC4 of 3.6.2 (which is a bit odd, given that a release version is available on the international FTP site). I am yet to try it, but I will give it a go this evening.

Hi i have post the same to an other 2850n thread
Members that wont synchronise good with BT infinity have you tried annex B firmware???with the 2850n
the reason i suggest this ...is because i have seen a hacked HG612 and has on, annex B
also i have seen report from 2 billion 8200 users switching their mode to annex B got better upload
